Welcome to the home page of the North Europe Young Diabetologists (NEYD) meeting

What is NEYD?

NEYD is a fantastic, meeting that provides an opportunity for young diabetes researchers (like yourself!) to present their research (including research in progress) to peers from other North European countries. You can submit your abstract here. This year the meeting is going to be held right here in the UK. Thanks to sponsorship from Boeringher-Ingelheim it is FREE for UK attendees.

What is the meeting like?

A fun, relaxed meeting with the opportunity to gain instant feedback, not only on your research but also on your presentation skills. Over 3 days the best 10 candidates from each of the UK, Netherlands and Denmark present their work. More experienced researchers are on hand to guide and support and, of course, we all get together for dinner and drinks in the evening. In fact the last time we were here in the UK, we stayed in sunny Devon and hit the beach between presentations...

Which countries are involved?

The UK, Netherlands and Denmark are the founding members.

Where is the meeting held?

Last year the meeting was in  lovely Denmark, Comwell Hotel Borupggard in Snekkersten. This year, we're back in the beautiful English countryside, Woodside hotel, Warwickshire

When is it?

17th-19th May 2017

How are delegates selected?

There are 10 places available for young diabetes researchers from each of the UK, Netherlands and Denmark. Each researcher can submit one abstract through this website, and places are awarded by anonymous judging of abstract in open competition. Delegates are chosen in each country though all entries are through this website. In the UK, the winner of the YDEF Travel Award competition at Diabetes UK will be invited to attend. The other nine places will judged according to their abstract by open competition - please see below.

How do I apply?

You need to submit an abstract using the abstract proforma that is available to download here. There are separate application forms for each of the countries to allow country-by-country judging. Upload your abstract using the links below. If you have any questions, be sure to direct them to the organiser in your country. The UK closing date for abstract submission is ****NOW EXTENDED to SUNDAY 2ND APRIL****. We are more than happy to have an abstract that have been submitted to other meetings. NEYD is often used as a platform for presenting at the DUK, EASD and ADA.
